Adobe gets ready to release Air 2.5 for Android, plus FlashTime video chat app
Adobe is starting to talk up the upcoming Air 2.5 for Android, which has added so many new features that the FlashMobileBlog says it's now at feature parity with the desktop version of the Flash Platform. What does that mean for users? Well, Air for Android can now use the camera and microphone, which means ...
... there's now a video chat app, similar to Skype or FaceTime, that's based on Air for Android. It's called FlashTime, and it's just being demo'd right now, with no working beta or source code available, but you can see it in action in a video on the FlashMobileBlog. It's a cool proof-of-concept that shows what Air will eventually be capable of on Android devices.

FlashTime? Are you kidding me? That name is so original!!! Urgh.
Couldn't they have used the FaceTime standard thing that Apple made open so that I could call my family members with Android phones from my iPhone 4?? Of course not. That would be way too easy for everyone, wouldn't it!?

Come on man don't be naive. This is Adobe taking a shot at apple after apple took shots at Adobe. They intentionally excluded facetime because they don't want that product to do well! Duh.

The question should be why did Apple invent their own standard yet again, the world is not about to bow to Steve Jobs and say "hey, lets use Facetime".

What current standard was out for video calling then? Ohhhh wait, there wasn't. I remember the days where my nokia wouldn't video chat with a sony ericsson
Also, what a cack handed demonstration
