GlowDart is a full-screen news ticker for your large monitor
If you've got a huge display that you want to set up as a news ticker, GlowDart is worth a look. It's Web-based, so it doesn't matter which OS you're running. It's got huge text headlines that are readable from a distance, and it scrolls vertically. Light and dark themes are both available.
The coolest thing about GlowDart is the ability to add your Twitter or Facebook account to it, so you can read updates in real time. The worst thing is the inability to add custom RSS feeds. I'd love it if GlowDart could just link up with my Google Reader, or even let me paste in one custom feed. Unfortunately, the selection is limited to a handful of pre-selected feeds, including Google News, Twitter Trends and Digg.
The lack of settings also means a lack of setup, though, so it's easy to just click GlowDart and let it run without so much as another click from you. Convenient!
