Coma: take a half-hour out of your day for this gorgeous Time Waster

If you play one Flash game this week, make it Coma. This surreal, beautifully-illustrated story will take you a half-hour, tops, to play through, but it will be absolutely worth it. The game takes place in the subconscious of a boy named Pete, and he's dreaming up some pretty strange stuff. His dad has locked his sister in the basement, and there are spooky woods and weird characters all around.

Coma's really more of a movie than a game. The controls are just left and right arrows, plus the up arrow to jump. No shooting, no enemies, no real dexterity required (although Pete's jumps are tough to get the hang of, at first). There's no way to die, either. You just play through a cinematic experience and get rewarded with a heck of an ending. I actually got a little spooked near the end, believe it or not.

If you're actually too busy to take half an hour to finish the game, you can go the slightly less satisfying route and watch a 10-minute walkthrough on YouTube.

UPDATE: The person who uploaded Coma to Kongregate was not the original creator. I've changed the link here to a legit version that wasn't stolen.
