You should really try Firefox with acceleration turned on, it's faster than IE9. At 250 fish I'm getting ~35fps in IE9 and ~45fps in Firefox.

I tried it with Firefox 3.7a6 -- which I thought had hardware acceleration turned on?
Will take another look.

Wow, you're right! With hardware acceleration turned on, FF 3.7 is showing almost exactly the same speed as IE9.
IE9's about 3-4 FPS faster @ 1000 fish.
