Facebook is testing a News Feed for loners

Facebook had a little to say to Business insider: "This is a test we're running to a small percentage of users who have very few friends on Facebook. This is simply to help them discover interesting content and create an instantly valuable experience for them."
We can see from the picture (helpfully annotated by 'hotlou') that these friendless Facebookers no longer have the option of 'Top news' or 'Most recent' -- instead, they will be presented with a News Feed showing the most-liked and most-commented items on Facebook. It's a bit like Twitter's trending topics even...
What I want to know is where the 'cut off' for this new feature lies. I have 150 friends (which I've always thought as quite low!), but I don't have the option of seeing this new feed. Is there anyone else out there that can see the new feed -- and if so, how many friends do you have?

So.. If I try to make my newspage a little less "FARMVILLE!!! I WANT A COW!!!!" by removing all the idiots, it'll fill itself back up again.
..
*sigh*

I have 48, and it's not available. But I wouldn't consider 150 or 48 to be low. I would think single digits at least. With 48 and Applications blocked, and several friends content hidden as well, there's still more content in my feeds than I care to keep up to date with unless I really wanted to spend 10 minutes of every hour on Facebook.

Dang... it must be VERY low then, or a geolocated beta test or something :)

Hi Sebastian -
The account has 13 friends -- but they are some of the best test-friends that a test-account could ever ask for. :)

Haha -- I wondered if I would draw you out :P
Thank you for the info -- and for being a good sport!

I have 69 friends in my personal account which is more than 50 so I guess it wouldn't be available for me anyway.
