Microsoft steps it up a notch and offers Apple developers money to switch platform
In a bid to drum up support for its upcoming Windows Phone 7 platform, Microsoft is reportedly offering 'substantial' amounts of cash to iPhone developers if they agree to port their apps to its new smartphone platform. This follows in the footsteps of a rumor that Microsoft may change its mobile development tools to allow easier porting from iPhone/iPad Objective C to Windows Phone 7's C# and Silverlight. The developer that contacted PocketGamer seems to think that Microsoft will have to offer both money and better porting tools if it wishes to woo the iPhone's burgeoning crowd of game developers.
Desperate plea, or simply Microsoft putting money to good use? You decide.

Putting money to good use of course! I see no shame in doing this. If this is what it takes to help close the gap, then do it. Windows Phone 7 is the closest thing to the iPhone in terms of user experience and quality.

It's not a good use, but they definitely aren't desperate. Microsoft is just lazy, Same reason why IE sucks, they don't enough effort into their products.

I believe that the only developers that wouldn't make the switch are those who are absolutely in love with the JeebusPhone and those who do not know how to code in C#, Silverlight, or XNA. IMHO, Objective-C is a horrible, horrible language that should die a horrible, painful, proprietary method of death. XNA has a MUCH broader audience since the code can be recycled for three platforms.
