Looks rather flawed to me. Firstly the demo uses a mouse and keyboard, two things which are not suited to sitting on the sofa in your sitting room.
Secondly, web pages which are not developed specifically for a 10 foot experience will not work - imagine trying to read the text on your facebook messages.
Thirdly, a lot of web sites and services are person to person. They are of relevance to you and you only. My friends facebook stream is of little interest to me as it's relevant to him only.
Finally, if you're in the UK, I'd say wait until Project Canvas is launched Q1 next year. It's backed by the big names in TV and content, is a full DVR with catchup TV from all the major channels as well as a wealth of on-demand content.
