RhymeBrain helps you rhyme, alliterate, and find really nerdy insults

rhymebrain

I hereby declare the expression "smarty pants" to be outmoded. No longer will we use such hackneyed language. Thanks to RhymeBrain, we can now say something like "whippersnapper whites."

Okay, so maybe that's not the most useful example, but RhymeBrain is actually an awesome website for playing around with words. You fill in a textbox with a word (or several, if you want to alliterate), and you can find words that rhyme, alliterations, or insults that are loosely based on the word(s) you've entered.

I must say that the insults weren't really insulting. I mean, if you're a nerdy homeschooled ten-year-old who never goes outside, you may be offended by someone calling you "Jack the bibliomaniac." The rest of us are not likely to shed tears over the insults that this tool provides.

However, if you're looking for a catchy title for a blog post (just saying) or trying to find a word that rhymes ... well, RhymeBrain is really nice. I just might try it the next time I have a creative conundrum or encounter a bit of textual trouble.

Just in case you're not convinced about how effective alliteration can be for putting a message across, after the jump you can watch a striking example out of V for Vendetta, with some neat kinetic typography to boot (the interesting bit starts at 0:30).
