Hardball Frenzy is a pinball-inspired Time Waster
Take a pinball game and strip out the flippers and the noise; you might end up with something quite similar to Hardball Frenzy. You shoot a ball from the top of the board, and there are several targets which you have to hit. Once you hit a target, the ball ricochets off it and bounces on to (hopefully) hit the next one.
Once a ball is done bouncing around, it funnels down to the bottom of the board, where there are no flippers to push it back up (because this isn't pinball, after all). So it just goes to oblivion, and you get a new ball. The targets which you've hit all disappear, and the board now shows only those that remain.
You usually get around five balls per level; hit all the targets with this supply of balls, and you move on to the next one. Spend all of the balls without hitting any of the targets, and you lose. Simple, effective, and hardball (get it? get it?).

peggle does offer a lot more gameplay wise, but this makes up for it with its narration humor
