Well that sounds nice, I do that on firefox and missed it from chrome, now if only chrome didn't geolocate my language and run entirely in german making it effictevly useless to me.

Have you tried going to Options > "Under the Hood" tab > "Web Content" section > Change font and language Settings > "Languages" tab ?

"Wrench-Icon" -> "Optionen" -> "Details"-Tab -> "Web Conten" section -> "Schriftart- und Spracheinstellungen ändern" -> "Sprachen"-Tab -> "Google Chrome Sprach" (the dropdown at the bottom)
Wasn't that complicated to figure it out... :P
