Web Classic: A Softer World is a web "comic" with a kick
(This is another "Classics" post, so to those of you who wish to make snarky comments like "oh wow, ever heard of Dilbert.com?" -- relax, I know you're super-cool and that you've already known the site for ages. I'm so proud of you!)
And for the rest of the world: A Softer World is one of the best online "comics" I know. It's always the same, and always different; it's always three low-fidelity still frames, with captions in monospaced black-on-white font.
There's not much going on in each strip; it's not about the action. It's most often a single sentence, divided between the three frames for best effect.
It often gives me pause. It's sometimes ironic, but is just as often simply heartfelt and honest, in a sad, mellow sort of way. It doesn't always hit the spot for me, but when I stumble on the right strip when I'm in the right mood, the honesty and emotion it conveys is like a kick in the head.
