Tabzon's free Web app is a simple in-out board for your small business

We've been looking for something like EIOBoard, only free. Tabzon might just be the solution.
It's not as full featured as some in/out software, but it's got all the basic functions. Start by signing up for a Tabzon subdomain and send out invites to your staff. Once they've activated, your roster will appear and people can set their status. Tabzon sets up available, unavailable, and busy by default, and you can create your own quick click options.
I'd like to see a centralized setup option for the quick clicks; as it stands now, each user has to create them. This is still a very new service, though, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if they add that option at some point.
So why not just use an instant messaging app? That's software I don't want running in the store. Apart from being a distraction, I've got co-workers who wouldn't be able to figure out what to do with a full-fledged app. With a Chrome-powered Web app shortcut on their desktops that points to Tabzon, things are kept nice and simple.

The company I work for has been using In-Out Board from http://www.glassbead.com/inoutboard/index.shtml for years. Cheap.

We use EIOBoard at our company and there is nothing free out there that will remotely compare to their software. They include 4 ways to access your In-Out Board (Web Browser, Application or Client, Outlook Add-in, and a Web Based Mobile) all price inclusive. Not only that, but they also have options to integrate your board with an HID reader or use a fingerprint system to make the board really easy for people to use as they walk through the doors (ours is set up so that the login/logout actually opens the doors too). I guess if you just want the "Very Basic" in-out board, and you don't have many people, the Tabzon or Glass Beads version of an In-Out Board software could work for you.

It doesn't handle "international characters", which renders the customization of the status options rather useless for those not using English.
I would like to see more options with regards to corporate branding, color sets, display options, etc. It is rather bare-bones right now. I would love to see a display only page that could be used on a big-screen TV at the entrance to offices, etc.
It looks very impressive though, if they add I18N and L9N and offer a bit more branding options then this would be very useful.

Yes, and that is another plus for the EIOBoard solution--it does handle "International Characters". Plus you can use the mini view to display everyone easily. And they even offer large screen display options, like Geir commented he wanted for a lobby view. The thing is guys, "you get what you pay for" and EIOBoard is worth the cost--at least our company believes that wholeheartedly. Oh and one last comment for EIOBoard, there support team is the best. Call and talk to them and you will see what I mean.

@Geir - Support for International Characters has been added to Tabzon
Tabzon is a brand new application and we're listening to the early feedback and responding accordingly by continually improving it.
