Latest Firefox nightly adds tab bar-cramping customization

You can now cram everything into your tab toolbar. Right-click and choose customize, and you're now able to drag-and-drop navigation buttons, the address bar and search bar, or any of the other Firefox menu elements alongside your tabs.
If you're a netbook user and only have a few tabs open at a time, this could be a good way to save vertical pixels on your cramped display. Otherwise, I'm not sure too many people are going to go for this kind of interface cramping. Even on my LG's 1680x1050 screen, more than 5 tabs already starts to feel like a tight squeeze.
More customization options are always welcome, though, and that's a big part of what makes Firefox such a great browser.

You know, I almost put an 'inbefore Opera had this...' but I figured I'd let the post go live and wait 12 seconds for the first Opera user to post something...

It does NOT matter who did something first. If it is a GOOD idea then everyone should adopt it.

I've had to drop back to 3.5.9 since 3.7 crashed on me every 15 minutes.
An option I think would work well on modern wide format monitors are vertical buttons on the right or left side of the window. The location and search could remain in the top as special tabs

Opera does the whole tabs on the side thing pretty well, actually. The thumbnail tabs feature really shines when it is used with vertical tabs on the side.

This is great for netbooks. I use some extensions to make firefox's menu area as small as possible, this allows me to maximize the usable space the tiny screen of a netbook. Good stuff.

I'd highly recommend Tree Style Tabs if you're worried about too many tabs. I've got mine set to vertically along the side, and to be hidden with one button (

That's oblivious with the multi-row toolbar for Firefox.
VERY popular add-on I use extensively.
