Wikipedia founder reports Wikimedia Commons to the FBI for child porn
Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger -- who left the company back in 2002 -- says he has reported Wikipedia's parent organization to the FBI for hosting alleged child pornography. He's made the letter open and posted it to Wikipedia, where users (including Wikimedia's lead attorney) have subjected it to some harsh criticism, both legal and personal. Wikimedia defenders claim Sanger is just bitter over his falling out with Wikipedia, while he claims he had a legal duty to report offending images that he had knowledge of.This discussion is safe-for-work, as the links to the potentially illegal images have been redacted. The FBI hasn't acted on the information yet, as far as we know, but The Register was able to reach Sanger for comment. He told them, "If I don't report this - and it's been up for years, apparently - who will? As the co-founder of the project, I believe I have a special personal obligation to rein in egregious wrongdoing when I see it. Or at least try."

Hopefully the FBI ignores Sanger. He is a disgruntled former employee.

I can imagine a room filled with a Fucking Bunch of Idiots (FBI) pondering if they should believe the rants of the guy in the picture or just arrest him because he looks like a pedophile.
