Former Bebo CEO joins Facebook as EMEA marketing manager
Facebook just recruited Joanna Shields, who used to head the social networking site Bebo. Shields will be heading sales and business development in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA for short). It's actually a territory she's worked with before as she used to do a similar job for Google.
The guy currently heading the EMEA section of Facebook, Blake Chandlee, will move on to more challenging territory; he will be focusing on sales in "emerging markets," such as Eastern Europe, Asia Pacific, and Latin America.
It appears that Facebook has quite a few high-profile Ex-Googlers around; Sheryl Sandberg, their COO, used to work for Google, as well as their new VP of Advertising and Global Operations, David Fischer. I wonder how well the Facebook campus competes with the perks of working at the Googleplex.
