File transfer on its way to GMail chat
Now that you can upload any file to your Google Docs, it only makes sense that Google would start tapping into that cloud storage elsewhere. The crew from Mountain View has just announced that both iGoogle and Orkut chat now have built-in file transfer. Next stop: GMail chat, where you'll soon be able to send files to chat participants. Start a chat, click actions, send your file. Ba-da-bing!
If you're like me, this is great news. I can't recall how many times I've wanted to quickly share a screenshot with one of the Download Squad team and wished there was a way to ship it their way right from our chat pane.

I hope this will apply to Google Talk too. It's one of the big things GTalk has always lacked compared to other instant messengers.

if google talk had that feature as well, good bye AIM. Direct connect one reason why I still use it.

Google Talk needs more advertising, and the ability to use other XMPP chat networks like those from Facebook or Hyves. (Dutch social hub)
