A taste of Netflix on Wii (video)

Browsing on the Wii is pretty basic, but at least more functional than a Samsung I had been using. You can add movies, browse by category, play individual episodes, and enjoy most of what you get on the Xbox but with less resolution. Having seen the 360 version, it's a bit of a bummer to see the fuzziness on my HDTV, but hey, unlike my Samsung (the WiFi dongle died) it works. Yes, you have to keep the disc in while you run Netflix, but that's not really a big deal unless you mistreat the disc.
The video below is a quick taste of our first experience with Netflix on Wii.

What is the actual video playback experience like?

Wow, with a free disc and my existing Wii it's already better than my Roku since I can browse titles from the Wii. Nice.

You'll want to request one:

Is this a joke? You have to keep the disk in?

You could always rip the Netflix CD into a USB loader for the Wii. That way you don't have to keep the CD in.

Thanks! I'll have to try that. I guess I just thought it was easier to use the Channel Function that Nintendo created. That way, Nintendo could earn referral bonuses for people who signed up for Netflix through the Wii interface.

Got my disc Friday and already watched half a dozen movies. Fast startup and a pretty damn decent picture for SD on HDTV. Video was smooth also. Great streaming option for family or kid's room. I'm pleasantly surprised!

I have Netflix on the PS3, not too shabby. Just don't expect newer movies. I use it primarily to catch up on old series that I never watched.
