How to stop buffering a YouTube video
Here's a semi-useful nugget from YouTube: You can easily stop a video from buffering by using the context menu. I'm not quite sure when this option actually comes in handy, but it's there if you need it. The blog post over at Google Operating System says that it's useful if the video is boring and you pause it. In that case, I'm not sure why you wouldn't just close the tab. I'm thinking this might come in handy when you're trying to free up some bandwidth quickly and you're buffering a longer video.
What's more interesting to me is the "Copy embed html" option that I just discovered (right under the "Stop download" option). That's actually handy for full-screen viewing -- or when my Greasemonkey script acts up and hides the Embed code box (which happens more often than it should).
Bottom line: Is YouTube getting feature bloat? Food for thought.

I just drag the slider to the end of the video.

It's useful for youtube videos in your google reader feed that you don't want to finish

YouTube has always been somewhat horrible. If you compare the Vimeo user interface to the YouTube UI, Vimeo wins by miles.

And Megavideo beats them all...
BTW none of these features are new.

None of you really can't see the benefit of this?
Have you never been to a forum before? When more than one video is put on a page this allows you to stop loading the boring ones and load the more interesting ones. You don't wana waste bandwidth on a paused video causing another to load slower.

Very handy here in india where we get charged for bandwidth and speeds are seldom more than 2mbps. I on a blog or site with embedded video and I start it, find it boring but want to finish reading the blog or keep the site open, I can now stop it from buffeting the rest and save my bandwidth. Have had this experience many times before where I wanted to stop it from buffeting. ThiS must be the work from google india team!

Flashblock + greasemonkey's "Youtube Title Adder" and play only the linked YT videos you want.

This is actually a new feature, suggested by my friend @olafurw as seen here: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/bcb14/im_a_youtube_software_engineer_working_on_the/c0m1i8b
As a previous poster recommends - this is a good way to deal with forum posts that have lots of video embedded.
