Dropbox for Android is coming: first screenshots
Dropbox is pretty much consensus. It's great, and one of the only complaints that can be heard about it is that it's not widespread enough. For example, while it does have an iPhone app, it's still missing an Android client.
Apparently, not for long. The upcoming Android client will have live streaming, as well as file download support. Editing files on the go will reflect the changes in the Dropbox, and you could upload videos to the Dropbox instantly and share their public links.
I know I don't sound all that excited, but I guess it's because I don't own an Android device (Nokia FTW!). It is pretty big news, especially the bit about streaming your own music. If you have a 50GB account, it means you get access to a massive chunk of your music library at all times. Handy indeed! Now we just have to see when they actually go ahead and release it, instead of just teasing with screenshots...
I've put up most of the screenshots they've released right after the jump.
Warning: They're quite large (hi-res).

So how exactly is "Syncing" going to work? Files in the Dropbox cloud won't be downloaded to the device until you explicitly opt to download them, but once downloaded, changes to those files will be synced to the Dropbox cloud automatically?

Well on the iPhone the files aren't actually stored on the phone and can't be edited from the phone, you can just view and delete files. You can also add pictures to the dropbox.
You can mark files as favorites which are kept on the phone and then are accessible when you don't have an internet connection, but they'll update whenever you open the Dropbox app while on the internet.

What about a WebOS client? The Pre is made for this kind of thing. So is Windows Mobile for that matter. And Blackberry.

The timing is great. I just got my Nexus One last week and was actually looking for a dropbox app yesterday.

I realize this article refers to the official app. But there has been a Dropbox client in the marketplace for some time now, its called Droidbox.

So, how is this actually news? I've been using the "Dropbox Free" (official Dropbox app found in the Android Market) for months.

That's not an official app at all.

Oh wow, my bad.
I honestly thought that was the official app.
Should research a bit more carefully what I install.

Hello
DropBox works pretty well for me – on both Mac and PC.
And I wanted to give this little hint:
--> by using this link https://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTU5ODc3MTA5 ,
both me and any new user will get a 256MB bonus to the 2GB free space!
This extra space for backup and sync will be the most welcomed for any new user!
