Microsoft's Bing iPhone app gets a big update, lots of new features
When Microsoft first released the Bing iPhone app, the big story was how strange it was to see a Microsoft search app on Apple's mobile OS. Now that Bing's been around for a while, and Microsoft has reported been talking to Apple about adopting it as the iPhone's default search engine, the story about the new version of Bing for iPhone is a bit more simple: new features. The latest incarnation of Bing has bookmarks, location features and more.
With the Bing app, you can bookmark sites and save searches for later reference. You can also set your location, to make searching for nearby info a snap. New secure search features allow you to password-protect your settings and perform private searches, which certainly wouldn't be for iPhone-friendly porn, or anything like that. In a similar vein, you can set and save your SafeSearch settings in the new app.
With every update, Bing for iPhone is getting more usable, and it's getting easier to imagine Apple actually taking on Bing as a partner, just to spite Google.

This app is actually very cool, I would like to see Bing replace all the services Google offers on the iPhone. (Maps and search... etc...)

MS just doesn't get it! You don't try to 'lock-in" Mac people, they won't let you. Just make your software compelling! But I don't think the MS merchant culture will EVER get this...

Yeah. Because Apple has always been utterly open to everything and never tried to lock anyone or anything in any way.
Great point dude. You got it.

This is going to make the Macs and PCs cry, but I bet we will see more and more MS/Apple collaboration as Google becomes a bigger and bigger threat.
In fact, it's prediction time. Within the next 5 years there will be an Apple product that comes with Windows preloaded in addition to the standard Mac OS. This will be direct from Apple, not like a few years ago when a third party was loading XP on to Macbooks and selling them as preloaded with XP.

yeah even though it sounds odd, as apple expands i could even see them offering windows pre-loaded on a mac as an optional extra. Especially if they start to take gaming more seriously and built a gaming mini-tower mac.
People said we would never see bootcamp for example….
