CEO: Spotify will launch in the U.S. later this year

Spotify CEO Daniel Ek has now said that it's coming later this year to the U.S. In an interview with The Telegraph he also stated that the free U.S. product would be "pretty much" the same as the one offered in Europe, qualifying the "pretty much" by explaining that the upcoming version of the app will "alter the way that people consume the product in terms of sharing, discovery and music management."
So congratulations to our readers in America, you'll soon be able to enjoy Spotify's awesome service! And what about us Canucks?
Fellas?

The only way we'll get spotify is with a US proxy. Companies have given up on us because of our stupid and incredibly restrictive broadcast and payment laws.
If the government finally gets rid of regulations for those like he did telecommunications, then we can all be happy when Directv, Comcast and other big companies come in here and kill crappy ones like Rogers and Bell and companies like spotify won't have such a hard time licensing songs.

I don't think having Queen Elizabeth on your money would make any difference.
Spotify isn't a British service. Silvia doesn't mean much (anything?) to Sweden so don't bother changing it to her.

They said the same thing about Denmark last year, and we haven't seen anything yet...
