Street Fighter IV: an iPhone game earns the Street Fighter name

Get your tissues ready, gamers, because you're about to cry some big, sloppy tears of joy. Picture this: Capcom's Street Fighter IV. In your pocket. For 10 bucks.
That's right, Street Fighter IV has hit the iPhone with the fury of one of Ryu's dragon punches. I know what you're thinking, though: can this port possible look good and be playable? Yes, yes it can. While the graphics obviously aren't up to par with the arcade version of the game, they're decidedly on the high end of pretty iPhone games.
SFIV runs smoothly (on the 3GS, anyway. I can't vouch for the experience on earlier iPhone models), and the stripped-down controls handle surprisingly well. The character list includes Ken and Ryu, obviously, as well as other classic favorites like Blanka, Chun Li, and Guile. I would have liked to see a few more of the new characters, though. The only one we've got here is Abel.
All in all, though, Capcom has handled the challenges of a touch-screen controller with aplomb, and the result is an iPhone release that actually earns the Street Fighter name.

Wow! Looks like a blast to play. Now if only your THUMBS weren't COVERING the characters you're controlling, it might even be fun to look at.

I bought it instantly, and I gotta say it plays pretty well! Even on my 1st gen iPhone it's very smooth.Total novelty, of course (like all iPhone games in my opinion). Waiting for a friend to pay the hefty price so we can do some multiplayer...

how is that supposed to work on a touchscreen, since half the fun was yanking the hell out of the bulletproof arcade joysticks trying to pull off the fastest moves possible...
