Zotero Firefox add-on helps researchers manage citations easily
Zotero looks like a very useful Firefox add-on for researchers. It has been covered on Download Squad back in 2006. Over three years later, it is still going strong and now has word processor integration. The add-on lets you add citations from anywhere in the web; you find a page which is useful for your research, hit a button on the Firefox address bar, and Zotero locates one or more citations on that page and saves it to its internal database. You can then add notes, group and sort your references, and edit any related information. Zotero's database is kept online, so your references stay in sync even if you use a number of different computers for your research.
When you drag a citation from Zotero to any text field, it puts a reference to that citation in one of numerous reference styles which can be configured. There are also Microsoft Word and OpenOffice plug-ins, which let you access your citation database from within those word processors so you can easily cite articles and then generate a bibliography by clicking a single button.
[Thanks, Yaara!]

I love Zotero so much! I actually have a college class that is based entirely off of Zotero. Now the whole class has to use Firefox. It's great!

I have been using Zotero all through college and it is a godsend when it comes to research papers. Organizing and keeping track of electronic database articles is really easy. I think that is the best part, not the citation helper

I wrote my master's thesis with Zotero and it saved my life. I will definitely be using it for my dissertation as well! Viva Zotero!
