Valve's Steam coming to Mac OS X?

As we covered yesterday, there's a new, massively-overhauled Steam client currently in beta testing. As always with enthusiastic gamers, it didn't take long for someone to hack at the files of the new software and discover signs of a potential Mac OS X client. If the screenshot above isn't big enough to make out the Mac OS X widgets, check out some larger images: screenshot 1, screenshot 2. Pretty damning evidence of an in-the-works Mac client, in my opinion!
Will the beta that they're currently running eventually extend to Mac users? More importantly, will Steam start stocking more than just a handful of games that will run on Mac OS X?

To play Devil's advocate, these screen shots look like nothing more than a set of theme skin assets to keep the Windows modders happy. Show some code that indicates that Steam is coming to OS X and you have a worthwhile bit of news.
That said I'd love to be able to runs all current and future PC games (not just the tat that gets ported from time to time) on my Mac without the need to install Windows.
However Steam isn't the issue here, as some have already pointed out, it's nothing more than an interface to a download manager and launcher. The crux of the issue of bringing games to OS X is the cost of producing / converting the games for OpeGL when everything in Windows land is all DirectX 9 or 10 these days. It's all about the abstraction layer :p

Bitches don't know about CrossOver?
You can run Steam on CrossOver and it's essentially native. And all Valve Games work wonders. And other games as well, actually. Bioshock on full graphics is nice.
But yeah, a native OSX client would be much better.
