Quake 3 port brings classic shooter action to Android phones
Those crazy cats over at Engadget get really excited about Android apps and gaming, so I wasn't surprised to see them gushing about this news: Quake 3 has been ported to Android! That's right, the end-all-be-all of early-00's first-person shooters, a game that used to require top-of-the-line PC hardware to play, now just requires a nice phone. Cool!
There's video of Quake 3 in action on a Droid, which I've included after the jump, but it might not run as well on Android devices with weaker specs. Quake 2 might, though! Engadget says the framerates are decent and the controls are customizable, so go right ahead and grab a big piece of gaming history.

I suppose this is just for novelty purposes. I find it pointless. So the Android can render the Q3 engine, great.
Moving on.
