YouTube finally pulls the original Rickroll video
After years of torturing innumerable unsuspecting web surfers, YouTube has finally pulled the plug on the original Rickroll video. The reason: it's simply one of the most horrible abuses of the music video medium ever perpetrated.
Ok, not really, it was pulled due to terms-of-use violations -- which probably won't come as a shock to most of our readers. User-uploaded music videos have always been a takedown target on YouTube, yet somehow the Rickroll clip managed to survive long enough to pull in over 30 million views. That's nearly double the number of albums Rick Astley sold in the 80s.
It probably won't be long before the same crafty types who brought you gems like Tayroll'd or Fresh Prince Roll'd resurrect the clip. You may not know when, you may not know how, but one day soon one of your jackassy friends will once again wield the Sword of Astley against you.

Dude, I can think of at least a half-dozen worse music videos. It's a product of its time and at least what it did it did with class!
Also, I thought the RickRoll died in 2008, either when YouTube pulled their April Fools prank or when Astley got invited to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

I don't get it. I searched for "Rick Astley" and found this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0
which also has 30 million views. Are there two separate Rick Astley movies with 30M views each?
