Apple starts tossing sexy iPhone apps out of the App Store
It looks like Apple may have a new policy when it comes to sexy, borderline-pornographic iPhone apps in its store. Apps from the laddish, softcore likes of Maxim have been thrown out, along with scantily-clad ladies served up by lesser-known companies. One developer, On the Go Girls, has reportedly had SEVENTEEN of its apps removed from the store. Just when aficionados of nudity were getting excited that the iPad might be the ultimate porn-viewing device, too! This could be an unstated new policy from Apple -- heaven knows it wouldn't be the first time that's happened in the App Store -- or it could just be that the process of reviewing user-flagged "objectionable material" just got a lot more efficient.
Come on, though: isn't that the reason Apple vets apps before they hit the store? It would be quite hypocritical to let so many of these apps through -- like I said, seventeen from just one developer! -- and then start pulling them willy-nilly over objections. Sounds like Apple really might have an agenda here. Their statement so far is too broad to be of much use: "Whenever we receive customer complaints about objectionable content we review them. If we find these apps contain inappropriate material we remove them and request the developer make any necessary changes in order to be distributed by Apple."

I don't see what is so bad about having "sexy" apps in the app store, but whenever there's 17 different apps from the same developer that is the same thing is ridiculous anyways. I like to browse the recently added on my touch, and every week there seems to be stuff like sexy blonde girls, sexy brunette girls, sexy Asian girls, etc. I don't see why that developer can't make one app with it all. Anyways that is more of a complaint, but I thought Apple reviewed the apps beforehand anyways? Isn't that why it takes months to get an app into the app store?

Time management this, money management that, drawing program this... Redundancy is everywhere in the app store.

next thing you know they will be censoring which websites you can access from their devices. i don't like the idea of this at all.

I do, sick of every dick, tom and harry grabbing a few broads' pics off google images, bunging into an "app" and selling for $0.99. What the hell. Get rid of them all. You make 17 apps from one developer sound like something big, it isn't, the same crap over with different pictures making you buy more.
App Store has become an absolute joke, everyone trying to put up their own mediocre crap. It's about time they sorted it out.

On the go Girls is a developer who releases about the same damn app every week. They are all "Sex Girls this" "Hot girls that" bullshit. Thank god apple is removing them from the app store, these developers who release tons of similar apps are taking advantage of customers and that fact that apple approves 50 apps in a row that are all almost the same is ridiculous .
