NPR News app for Android now supports live radio streams

Today NPR released version 1.2 of the Android app with support for listening to live-streams from more than 600 NPR stations. You can search for stations by call sign, zip code, or just hit the "local stations" button to find radio stations in your geographical area.
Because some stations have secondary audio streams, there are actually more than 1,000 streaming audio stations you can tune into. You can also bookmark your favorite stations or create playlists from your bookmarks for later listening.
The application also has all the same features found in the previous version, including the ability to find and listen to podcasts of NPR programs.
NPR News for Android v 1.2 is available as a free download from the Android Market.

Wow that's awesome, I just got a Pre not even a week ago, and I can use an app like this on that phone. :)

sticking to cable news are we?

No, but I sure don't choose news outlets that are so popular as to need government subsidization. Tofu and Birkenstocks must be pricey.
