Full Screen Weather combines Weather Underground with Google Maps
Full Screen Weather is a new tool from the folks behind the Weather Underground weather forecast web site that's ideal for anyone who has ever wanted to play at being a TV meteorologist from the comfort of their own home.
In a nutshell, the web site does away with all those charts, photos, banner ads and other things you find on the Weather Underground web site. Instead you're presented with a map that takes up the whole browser window, courtesy of Google Maps. Just enter a location and Full Screen Weather will give you the current conditions and a brief forecast for your region.
But here's the cool part. You can also see the temperature in a number of nearby locations. Zoom in and out of the map to see more details, or click on any temperature to see the conditions for that area.
If you happen to have a 60 inch LCD display, you can also stand in front of it and point at different areas of the screen while telling your dog what the chance of precipitation is in each of the surrounding counties.

This is just full window weather. If you want actual full screen weather, look at www.imapweather.com which has been around for a lot longer and has a lot better features.

Okay, let me correct myself a little here. This looks like it's just a new full screen version of wundermap which has been around since 2008 I believe, meaning it has been around longer than imapweather, but imapweather has had the ability to do full screen since it's launch last year.
iMapWeather still seems to have a few extra features, but both do a decent job. I use radar software, but these are nice for on the run or on my Mac.

Okay, I'd like to amend my previous post. This looks like it's just a spin off of wundermap, which has been around since 2008. iMapWeather still looks like it has a few other features, but hasn't been around longer as it was introduced last year.
Both seem to do a nice enough job for web based weather. Both choke when you try to download full screen animated loops due to the size of the data and the fact that you're trying to animate full screen. I use radar software on my computer, but these maps are nice for when i'm on the run or on my Mac.

I've tried to post this several times. I'll give it one more try not as a reply to myself to see if it works then I give up.
