Windows 7 now powers nearly 1 in 10 computers

CNet's Ina Fried notes that Windows 7's market share reached nearly 10% over the weekend. That figure is based on NetApplication's statistics -- which tend to vary a bit from weekdays to weekend as people connect to the 'net from their home computers instead of those at work.
On Monday, Windows 7 posted an 8.14% share which still amounts to a gain of nearly two percent during January. Further enterprise adoption would help that number grow, and with SP1 development picking up steam there could soon be more companies willing to join the likes of Intel and BMW on Windows 7.
Another side effect of Windows 7 adoption: Internet Explorer 8 has crept into the #1 spot on the browser usage chart. Well played, Microsoft...

I think what's really helping its numbers is a thriving grey market that sells legit Win7 Pro keys for as low as $10. People being able to upgrade for cheap has made a huge difference.

where is that market?
i don't think you can get legit original ms key for $10..
maybe something keygen'ed that will work for installation but not to activate..

ebay. I bought 3, and they all passed activation. I just looked again, and there are auctions selling keys for $10-50, all much less than retail.
There's also a website, but with ebay I can get a refund if it doesn't work. I'm 3 for 3 so far. I won't give the URL but they're on the NET and they sell Wholesale Keys.

I have to agree with Dach,
If it wasn't for the grey market on ebay of cheap legit license keys for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2, I wouldn't have made the upgrade of my workstation or colocated a server. The fact that windows 7 was superior to its predacesor ( vista ) didn't hurt either. Finally a reason to upgrade from XP.

I wish my Windows 7 PC would quit crashing so much. I know someone who has the same problem, as well.

Click start and type "reliability monitor", from there you could determine the cause of the crash (look under the red crossed icon).
Usually some hardware issue, and try to the get the latest driver or use the default driver from Windows.
