And try again (like on FaceBook) after they say 'oops, something went wrong...' error box.
Blah-blah-blah or reality, it takes a few tries to go through the same screen to delete, not to deactivate.
Facebook says it deactivates your account and will delete it after 14 days, supposedly in case you change your mind (ahem) 'cause you might have had one too many when you made your move to delete one of their (self-advertising big number of) followers.
Enjoy the actual thrill to unfriend yourself from them.
