Web app tells you what you should wear when running
My wife started running a little less than a year ago, and completed her first 1/2 marathon just last November. Before her recent running experience, I had completely underestimated what being a serious runner actually entails, both in terms of equipment and how complicated it can be to manage various weather types and routes.
Most runners I've talked to will tell you that one of the more difficult things to get a handle on is what to wear based on the weather. Runner's World now has a web app available called What Should I Wear that lets you enter the temperature (in either Fahrenheit or Celsius, making it internationally useful), wind speed, conditions (sunny, overcast, etc.), and whether you like to feel warm, cool or in-between when running. It then outputs a list of what articles of clothing you should wear to be comfortable on your run.
Now if only it discovered your local weather conditions using geolocation...
