VeriSign says Chinese government was behind cyberattack on Google
More proof is starting to come out implicating the Chinese government for the recent attack on Google. In addition to Google formally implicating the Chinese for the cyberattack that attempted to gain personal information on Chinese human rights activists, researchers have been able to identify the servers they used and where they originated from. The report provided by VeriSign's iDefense security lab, explains that they were able to track back the source of the servers used in the attack. "The source IPs and drop server of the attack correspond to a single foreign entity consolidating either of agents of the Chinese state or proxies thereof," the report says. Additionally, it was determined that "command and control" servers were used to run the malware used in the attack.

Well, they're still daft enough to carry on buying US dollars and debt...until they realise they can sink the US just by selling it all.

They're not daft at all - they're protecting their buyers. If the U.S. "sank", who would fill Uncle Sam's shoes?

Interesting stuff but realistically if you don't have access to the physical hardware there's no way to know that the source IP's in China haven't been comprised.
