How to publish your blog feed to Twitter and Facebook
There are many ways to automatically update your Twitter feed when you create a new post on your blog. There are two that we'll look at that will work with any content management system that outputs an RSS feed: Twitterfeed, and Feedburner.
When it comes to externally hosted utilities like this, I rate them in two basic ways: functionality, and reliability. In this case, there's not a clear winner, since Twitterfeed beats Feedburner hands-down when it comes to functionality, but the opposite is true when it comes to reliability.
Twitterfeed offers more control over how it updates your Twitter account, and gives you the added benefit of also being able to update Facebook at the same time. Feedburner only updates Twitter, and offers fewer configuration settings.
Personally, I've settled on Twitterfeed for now because it solves two problems for me with its ability to update Facebook, but it has already had an outage at a very inconvenient time (the launch of a new blog), so for me it's on notice; any further outages and I'm switching to Feedburner.
If you're interested, Feedburner's Twitter update function is hidden away in the Publicize tab, down under the Socialize link on the left menu.

Twitterfeed is one of the worst things to ever happen to Twitter. Twitter shouldn't be used for notifying followers of blog updates. Odds are they're already aware. Twitter is about allowing people and organizations to engage interested parties, not overload them with excess information that they most likely already knew. I've unfollowed several accounts because they weren't adding anything useful to my twitter feed. Most notably being the newspaper that I read daily. They used to use Twitterfeed and throw up links to their news articles carte blanche every morning when they updated their website. I already knew about these stories, so I stopped following them. Thankfully they've recently embraced Twitter for what it is, dropped Twitterfeed, and started engaging their readers.

This is kinda crazy. I was literally looking for a fix like this earlier today. I came across Twitterfeed after a google search, but didn't know how trusted it was. Awesome!

Do you like Twitterfeed for sending blogs to Twitter? I am using the Ping.fm WordPress Plug-in but mainly because I can also see stats for it and it sends out to Diigo, Delicious, Plurk, LinkedIn and FB as well (both fan & personal pages).

I've been looking to do this the other way round - All posts on Facebook appearing on a Wordpress blog.
But it's looking impossible because Facebook keeps so much walled in.

It might be worth trying the facebook twitter app, if you don't mind every tweet going to facebook - not sure if this would work with auto blog tweets but then I don't have a blog to test it

You forgot to mention Hootsuit, which is great for gathering stats also.

For those of you using WordPress, you might also consider the Twitter Tools plugin. Not only does it publish to Twitter, but it also gathers up your tweets for the day, week, or month and creates a post of all your (non-blog) tweets.

Twitterfeed is a great solution for posting to Twitter, but it's limited if you want more than that. I'm a big fan of http://Ping.FM which will allow you to post to a whole multitude of sites including Tumbr, LinkedIn, Plurk ... the list goes on.
I briefly wrote about integrating my blog with Ping.FM and Notify.me, here:
