Google takes advantage of GPS with "near me now" for Android and mobile
Finding information about businesses in your vicinity just got one step easier. Thanks to a new Google feature called "near me now," you don't even have to enter a location to search around your location on your mobile device. "Near me now" uses your phone's GPS – on Android or via Google's mobile website - to let you browse nearby locations.
Near me now offers a list of common categories, so it's easy to find the closest coffee shop or pizza place. The coolest feature is the "explore right here" button, though.
If your GPS is accurate down to the city block, "explore right here" will give you info on businesses you can probably see from where you're standing. That's two clicks from walking by a restaurant to figuring out whether you want to try it. Nicely done, Google.

Google already knows too much about all of us, so no thanks to them being able to log our location every time we access the site as well.

You must enable access to location first. All those that are afraid that Google hays this secret file of you and their other billion+ customers I suggest that you may feel safer off the internet or maybe on Yahoo or Bing. Surely they don't track basic information temporarily for advertising purposees?
