Foursquare (unofficially) becomes available on the Nokia N900

Foursquare, the location-based game of checking in at venues to compete for points and "mayorships," has landed on just about every mobile platform out there. We told you when it first arrived on the iPhone, when it got an even better app for Android, when it came out for the Blackberry, and when it finally hit the Palm Pre last week. Well, now you can even play Foursquare on a Nokia N900 - just not with an official app.

The Nokia version is called BarrioSquare, and it runs on Nokia's Maemo OS. Barrio is still in an unfinished alpha state, but it allows you to find nearby venues, check in and even send shouts. BarrioSquare is still so new that Foursquare hasn't had time to comment on whether an official N900 version of the game will come out, but at least Nokia fans will soon have a fully-functional third-party way to join in with their Foursquaring friends.
