Pro Tools gets Windows 7 and Snow Leopard support

Pro Tools, one of the most popular software packages in the music business, has been updated to work with the latest and greatest Windows and Mac operating systems. Pro Tools 8.0.3 offers official support for Snow Leopard and (reportedly very stable) beta support for WIndows 7. It also includes some bug fixes that make it worth upgrading, even if you're running an older version of Windows or OS X.

Create Digital Music posted a rundown of the compatible versions of Pro Tools, which include Pro Tools HD 8, Pro Tools LE 8 and Pro Tools M-Powered 8. Pro Tools M-Powered Essential has a Win7 and Snow Leopard compatible version "coming soon."

One caveat: just because Pro Tools will run on a current OS doesn't mean all your audio drivers are going to work, so check device compatibility before you upgrade your operating system.
