NPR's excellent mobile radio app comes to Android
NPR's mobile radio app, NPR News, is one of my favorite iPhone apps , and now it's available for Android users, too. NPR News gives you quick access to live audio streams from any of NPR's radio stations, as well as the ability to listen to archived NPR shows and segments. The Android version might be even better than the iPhone app, too, because it can run in the background.Apart from its inability to stay open in the background (which results from an iPhone limitation, not a problem with NPR's app), the iPhone version of NPR news seems to be the blueprint for the Android app. All the same great features are included. You can locate nearby stations using the phone's GPS, read stories as you listen to them, add stories to a playlist. NPR News is a misleading app name, because it also includes all of NPR's non-news offerings and some great music stations (my personal favorite is Seattle's KEXP).
Did I mention that NPR News is free? It's the bargain of the century, dear readers, and it's in the Android Market now.

I'm with you... I know Winmo is losing ground, but last I checked the market share is still more than Android. This isn't a jab at Android, but I don't understand why there isn't an app for Winmo too.
This feels like the Dreamcast all over again :(
