7 out of 10 Google users prefer Bing

These (shocking?) results come after Microsoft hired a research firm to look into how 'transient' we Internet searchers are. Do we stick to Google through loyalty, or purely because there's no adequate replacement? I've always thought it was more of the latter: the Internet is all about scoring the best free ride. We continually hop from service to service as monthly fees are introduced, or if another site has functionality that we require.
This report suggests that Bing might be just as good as Google, or even better. With that knowledge in hand, Microsoft merely has to temporarily shift people to its new search engine -- and they'll stick. Be ready to see a lot more Bing-related special offers!

It's all a matter of preference. For me it depends on what I'm looking for as I use Bing, Google and Yahoo for specific searches.

Bing is by no means bad. I just don't really like the whole look and feel of it. If Google were to stop tomorrow it would definitely be the search engine I'd go to though. It's mostly a design thing for me, although the results are different, I couldn't definitely say which one is better.

Subtext: they could only find 15 people who would agree to use Bing instead of Google. But that's enough for a party, right?

I remember a little stat that went something like, if you survey 200 people you will get back something like 90% accuracy. As the number drops below 200 the accuracy drops off fast and as you add exponentially more to the survey the accuracy only slightly increases. So 200 is a nice sweet spot to get a good pulse on what people are thinking.
15? Meaningless
As for whos better, Bing or Google and which you should use. It's obvious to me that both are very good now. I feel more comfortable in Google but I suspect thats more to do with it feeling familiar. Long may the competition between these two giants continue though, so we users get better services as they try and outdo each other.

MSN Video now uses Bing. I was looking for the latest version of The Guild, I used to be able to find the videos, but now I get unrelated crap. I ended up using google and just selecting that domain.
Bing is ok for image searches, but MSN Search seemed better to me.

There is a lot more to SEO than any "program" will do.
Relevant links, etc......
Do you use a "program" to "rewrite" your content.
I ain't the one, son.
Been at this a while.

My first gripe with MS and the reason why I would never switch over to using Bing even if it provided consistently superior search results over Google is this: Live mail adds a little tag line at the bottom of every single Email that you send advertising for live mail!!!!! Actions like that on free email services anger me so much. The lack of advertising for itself is honestly one of the features that I love about Gmail the most (and there is a lot to love) much and is why I have been using it exclusively for 5 years.
I know, I know this article is about using Bing Vs. Google Search and not Live Mail Vs. Gmail, but attitudes towards one section of your business will spill over to the other.
Also, as I have been using Google search for over 10 years. I love the simplicity. Even if Bing gave slightly superior results I would probably continue to use Google search as I much prefer to get a single text box to enter my search query and one or two simple buttons as opposed to a giant full screen picture of a monkey chewing on its fist with the search box not being front and center.

Are you serious? Bing is the worst search engine ever. I tried looking for something on Bing one time to try it out, could not find what I was looking for. I then go to Google, and it is in the top result.
So Bing is good only to test out if your internet still works!
And who did this survey survey? Microsoft employees in their coffee break?

The 7 users must have been out while bing was down yesterday.

I recently used Bing exclusively for a month. And afterwards I found that Bing and Google get me the same results, but I just like using Google more.

Well after all the trouble I have had with gmail outages and google apps and malware via google search results I made the switch to Bing, Bing on my Windows Mobile, my mail is Live mail and I have never been happier.
It all just works, even with a few features that gmail/ gcal have and Live doesn't I have stability and good search results.
Way to go MS.

Well, I personally hate bing so much that I blocked it on all of my networks with 500 + users. Crappy results, adware and malware filled results. So I blocked it out completely and no one has said a word about missing it.

Still use Google for most things, but Bing / Live maps beats Google Maps hands down. More/better high resolution stuff close up, and it just seems to work better.
