when i run through these steps i keep getting
error: could not delete existing file "ubC:\expandedSetup\boot\etfsboot.com"
error 123: the filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
and my file is placed at C:\expandedSetup
anyone know what the problem is?

You might have the same issue as the guy above -- did you extract the original three files? (I linked a guide above, might help.)
Or maybe you typed the command wrong?

i figured it out. i used a different command line i found on a windows 7 forum and it worked just fine.
oscdimg -bC:\expandedSetup\boot\etfsboot.com -h -u2 -m -lWIN_EN_DVD C:\expandedSetup\ C:\7.iso

I had the same problem, make sure there are no spaces in the folder name that you have your files in. I had mine labeled "Windows 7" and I got the errors, I changed it to 'Windows7" and edited the string i put in the cmd prompt and it works!
