VirtualBox 3.0 goes Gold
Just a few weeks after launching VirtualBox 3.0 beta, Sun has removed the beta label from the next version of the open source, cross-platform virtualization application. VirtualBox 3.0 includes a number of updates, including:
- Support for OpenGL 2.0 for Windows, Linux, and Solaris guests
- Ability to use Direct3D 8/9 applications on Windows guests
- Support for Linux kernel 2.6.31
- Up to 32 virtual CPUs

Yeah, this thing went live yesterday. Definitely seems better than version 2.0. BTW, can anyone care to answer this: http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=19362

Any word about their shared folders problem? In previous versions, sharing folders between a VM and Host was an exercise in frustration - their support forums were lit up with it. I stopped using the product because of it. Have they made this more intuitive and user friendly? Or is it still the same process?

I've been using shared folders on an XP Guest OS (Ubuntu Jaunty Host) with no problems for almost two months now. :)
What kind of problems did you experience before?

The problems were with setting it up. It was not at all intuitive when I tried it, and required mapping network drives, playing with the command line, and installing an add on pack for a few of the OS's I tried.

Hmm... Still no drag and drop between guest and host.
