Dear Mozilla: Can haz non-RC Firefox 3.5? Thanx!
Mozilla, we love you and all, but could you do us a favor? Could you please, please drop the RC from Firefox 3.5 already? Because, honestly, I think if I read another battery of "Firefox RC# Released" reports, I'm probably going to puke on my shoes.
On the plus side for Mozilla, all these releases are great publicity. Three candidates times the number of blogs reporting on Firefox equals...what? 16 billion blogs posts? Exaggerated, I know, but it seems like I can't open Google Reader without someone poking me in the eye with another update notice.
I know there are probably still some last-minute things that need touching up, and I want a Firefox 3.5 that's as close to perfect as possible too...but is this the only way to get it?
Little annoyances can always be patched after the release, right? Like they were with Firefox 3.0, remember?
On second thought, maybe that's exactly what they're trying to avoid this time. Well, carry on then!

i think they are just waiting for all those addons to be updated to work on 3.5.
and i hope they make it pass the acid3 test, RC2 only gets to 92 or 93

I have been using beta from day one and really can't wait till 3.5 gets off it. All the addons i use are updated. One thing that really pisses me off is that Google Gears addon isn't yet compatible. You'd expect better from google , no?

I thought that somewhere, not sure which blog, but there was something about after RC3 they were going to push the 3.5 update at the end of this week, so, Sunday sometime?

I heard it was at the end of the week. But are we talking a normal week with Sunday as the first day or business week with Monday as the first day. Only time will tell.

I tried RC2 on OS X but it is unusable... I guess on advantage of the RC series rather than the Betas is that I wouldn't have tried the Beta but RC sounds like it is almost ready... Anyway I sent feedback to Mozilla, I hope they get it right...

I've been using 3.5 nightlies on Leopard for the last month. I've never had a single problem...

Hey Download Squad, don't be pushy. I really am waiting for Firefox 3.5 myself but I'd rather have first time users of a new browser have something that is solid instead of tarnishing Firefox's name. Little bugs after release will be counted as patches to the software and measuring it up against other browsers will make it appear less safe. I love Firefox and love that it has a good reputation.
On an unrelated subject, if any of you knows of a Firefox fan club, just reply it. Now I'll be Googling, Binging, Yahooing, et al.

Cool idea! Now you made me want this feature.
I'll extend it by wanting the location bar to display history with the ability to swap history for book marks. Also display a merged tree of links from history and bookmarks, example: when displaying the bookmarks you can have a button to show the history of pages from same site to the link and when displaying history have the same option for displaying bookmarks from the same site. Add to that the ability to search one or both (history, bookmarks) at a time.
Integrate all that with Similar Web plugin might be an overkill but I like to dream.
Mmmm, I'll probably email Mozilla with the whole design. I have a lot of specifics on how to make this work from a usability point of view.

if bloggers stop commenting on what they do NOT like, the market will get the point quickly.
if bloggers have nothing else to do, they deserve what they do.

Yeah, it's not like Mozilla asks the bloggers to report on every damn RC and beta. They go out of their way to discourage reporting on them, and yet the blogs do, and now they're complaining about too much reporting? Why not just stop reporting on them - all this post does is add another annoying post to the bunch.

I guess I'm one of the few people who still haven't tried the RC. For something as important as my browser, I prefer to use a finalized version just for the peace of mind.

I tried the RC 3 and it's the promise that it hopes to bring went down the drain. the browser loads very slow, it crashes alot and more often than not, it loads web pages at a much slower pace.... so I just uninstall it and when back to 3.0.11.
Now all my favorites are missing.. :(

you did backup or export the precious favorites to some HTML file, before fiddling with some half-baked pre-release, didn't you?
