Nimi adds visual effects, arrangement features to Windows

If you're totally happy with Windows XP and won't be upgrading anytime soon, you're not alone. Just because you don't want to change your OS doesn't mean you're stuck with a boring, 8-year-old desktop.
Nimi Visuals includes 23 different effects, many of which are "inspired" by those seen in OsX and Compiz. Use it to add visual goddness like kinetic effects and transparency or useful arrangement features like edge snapping and maximizing. There's even a CoverFlow-esque task switcher (invoked via win+tab).
No install is required - just launch the executable and agree to the license. You choose to launch Nimi at startup by placing a check in the white box in the bottom left corner. .Net 2.0 is required.
Some of the effects rendered with a bit of choppiness on my laptop, but it's running Intel GMA and graphical sluggishness is something I'm accustomed to.

Crashes like a Chinese helicopter. I think this may be a 'it works on the author's machine' kind of app. It looks very ambitious, I hope the author keeps working on it.

Each User computer is a cosmos - which makes unhappily can cause some problems and happily: makes Our life more interesting. :)
Moreover, from probability there for sure will be at last person for whom something won't work. However, it does for majority :)
And as we care a lot of such Users - most common fixes of problems, might be:
-running not with administrator mode on
-running without .NET 2.0 installed, or with broken installation
-running with 3rd part incompatible software
I can only add that during my whole developing journey I've seen so many anomalies that - believe me - I'm glad I can turn on my computer on the morning ;P

First off, I meant no disrespect, just trying to be funny.
Maybe my responses will help you to debug, or at least I can provide another data point for you to debug. I feel your pain, as I am a .NET developer at my 'day job'.
1.) I am not running as the 'Administrator' user, but do have administrator privileges on my machine (I'm in the administrator's group).
2.) .NET 2.0 framework is installed, and fully patched, as is 3.5.
3.) I cannot speak to 3rd party software, as there's a bunch of that running.
The only thing that may be bothering it is I've got a dual-monitor setup. I'm running with the same graphics chipset that the writer of this article is.
Good Luck!

I know You didn't mean anything offensive, disrespectful etc. and I hope You also got such feeling from my reply.
I guess there is some incompatibility with each .NET versions to each system build, possibly some DLL differences etc.
I've tested all Nimi projects on my computers on both at home and work - and didn't find any problems, and only minor part of Users happens to have such luck T_T
If I think a little - from my previous experience - disabling styles for NV can help, it helped few Users (done controlled test).
Anyway thanks :)
P.s.: I'm just working on NVX update which makes me kind of sad T_T when everyone is focused on current release, there might be no attention to upcoming great features ^-^'

It basically works on Vista, but there's some problem with contrast/"jelly" effects... reported and confirmed.
Waiting for an update...
