SourceForge takes nominations for 2009 Community Choice Awards
OSCON 2009 is on the way, and that means it's time for Source Forge to kick off the selection process for their Community Choice Awards.
Nominees are being accepted in a dozen categories, including five that are new additions for 2009. Three are "Best Projects" (Academia, Government, and Commercial) and the other two are Best Visual Design (affectionately called the Swimsuit Competition) and Most Likely to Change the Way You Do Everything. That one should lead to some interesting discussions.
You can keep tabs on the latest nominations, read the rules, and nominate your favorites at SourceForge until May 29th. After that, the top ten in each category will be put to the vote beginning June 22nd.
OpenOffice.org was the big winner last year, taking Best Project and Best Project for the Enterprise. Who will come out on top this year? We'll find out on July 23rd as OSCON.
