Windows 7 reaches escrow build, RC imminent?

When Microsoft jumped the gun a few weeks ago and posted a Technet article dated May of 2009, there was all kinds of wild speculation around the Internet that we wouldn't see a release candidate until then. That's not what we'd heard before - that an RC could be coming as soon as April 10th, which is rapidly approaching.
NeoWin has confirmed that Microsoft has indeed reached Escrow with build 7105. The full build string is 6.1.7105.0.090404-1235_x86fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GB1CULFRER_EN_DVD, indicating that it was freshly-pressed this Saturday. News of the build originally appeared on a Russian forum and it's entirely likely that the same site will announce that the ISO has been leaked to torrent trackers in the next few days - since that appears to be the norm with Windows 7.
Just last week, Microsoft's Laurence Painell announced that there would be some big Windows 7 news in the upcoming weeks. A release candidate download would certainly have to be considered "big news."
Stay tuned. If there's a download to be had, we'll let you know about it.

i use and absolutely love windows 7, but practically daily posts are probably somewhat excessive. how about just posting MAJOR news or ACTUAL links, not just rumors (even if probably true). I love DLS, but too much Windows 7.

To be fair, our last Win7 post was on March 29th...That's not quite what I'd call daily.
And the fact that there's an official RC build stamp on something is kind of a big deal.

Was gonna say, it's been about a week since the last 7 post that I could recall. I always come to DLS first to find out if there's a new build out, so I don't mind the posts at all. Especially since, that's kinda why this site is here.
So thank you, DLS, for any and all 7 post.
Cannot wait for a RC to try out.

Please keep up the great reporting Lee and the rest of the DLS crew
