If you don't like the way it looks, read it with Readable App
Readable App is a bookmarklet you can use to display text from any webpage in a more easily-readable format, according to your preferences. If that sounds familiar, it might be because you've heard of Readability, a similar service I covered on Download Squad recently. The author of Readable App knows about Readability, acknowledges he borrowed some color settings from it, and offers a list of ways his app is better. He actually makes some good points. When you click the Readability bookmarklet, it reloads the page you're reading and styles it according to your Readability settings. Readable App, on the other hand, shows a lightbox-style overlay that you can click out of to show the original page. This is definitely more convenient, especially when you take into account that neither Readable nor Readability works properly on every page. If you hit a page it can't display well, it's faster to click out than to reload. Other than that, the choice between the two comes down to which site's selection of styles you prefer.

Hello. I'm Readable's developer.
I'd like to make something clear, as I really don't like the sound of this post.
First, this makes it sound like I "borrowed" more than a few colors from Readability, which is quite a distance from the truth -- nothing in Readable was borrowed from Readability, except a few colors; not even the general idea of the thing (Readable existed in concept form, on my computer, a long time before Readability launched; Readable was inspired by Paul Graham's website, or actually, with me not being to read the man's great essays)
Also, as opposed to Readability, Readable will work on many more pages, because of it's Manual Selection mode. If you click the bookmarklet and it doesn't return the text you want, you can just select the text and click the bookmarklet again. This assures that content can be made readable on almost any website.
Anyway,
I'm hard at work working on Readable V2. It's going to be smarter, faster, smaller, and will have better support for when Automatic content extraction fails. It will also offer quite a few additional options.

Gabriel - Keep up the good work. I just tried both and yours is far more configurable and easier to use. Looking forward to v2.

I came here to post that manual selection works as well. It helps out as I have a few monitors at my desk, one far enough away to require my glasses, yet with my other monitor nearer it doesn't warrant putting them on. Readable solves this issue, and can help out if there any distracting ads on the screen as well.

Or you can just use... (wait for it....)
Opera.

Yeah, sorry about that.
Readable 1.0 does not work with Opera
There's a very annoying error which i can not fix at the moment.
Anyway, it's fixed in V2 -- the v2 that's running on my computer that is.
So you'll be able to happily use Opera after V2.

No, as in Opera already has readable type extensions built in. Hell, i can even make Download Squad look like it was done on a C=64.

Hi Jay, we would like you to try TidyRead. It also has a Firefox add-on.
