New boxee alpha brings Pandora, XUL-browsing and an API

At the boxee meet-up in NYC tonight, the team is unveiling a new bleeding-edge alpha that adds lots and lots of cool stuff to my personal favorite media center solution.
The latest release, which should be available as you read this (or very shortly thereafter), brings:
Boxee is available for Mac OS X, Apple TV, Ubuntu and is in private alpha for Windows.

- Pandora support
- A new boxee API
- A new XUL-based browser to get around the Hulu nastiness
- A PBS App Box app from BoxeeHQ
- Support for RadioTime, which allows users to stream 100,000 radio stations from around the world

Yes, the Windows version is still in private alpha (I've been using it, it's getting better and better), but is certainly in the works.

boxee is really cool but can be a bit jerky in the play back for some reason. I run parrells on my mac so I also use Jaksta (www.jaksta.com) to download shows over night and then watch them later. Im a House fan so I also convert the stream from Hulu using Jaksta automatically to Ipod format and then I just transfer it from parralles to the mac and sync with itunes and my phone and I watch it on the train on the way to work. Works a treat. HTH
