Great news--I wonder if it will attract more users though.

I doubt it. People are more likely to go with what's more popular. And Twitter is extremely popular right now. It's too bad. Jaiku is somewhat better than Twitter. But they missed their window of opportunity. Aside from the early technical issues, they've been closed beta and invite-only for as long as I could remember. How are you supposed to get people to use your service if you don't let them sign up for it? LOL.
