Mozilla releases pre-alpha web browser for the HTC Touch Pro

Keep in mind, this is what Mozilla is calling a milestone build. It's not a beta. It's not even a public alpha. It's a "working, usable browser," but that's about it. There's no support for updates, plug-ins, or software keyboards. But many of the bugs that users found in the pre-milestone version should be gone by now.
If you happen to have an HTC Touch Pro and some free time on your hands to try out Fennec, let us know how it goes in the comments. You can download the cab installer directly to your phone. Or you can download it to your PC and use ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center to copy it to your phone.

Hey that's my phone!
I am downloading it as I am typing.... 9mb cab...Done!
Installing now... Its taking its time to install. It is going on 2 minutes now.
Ok done now I am Running it... Cute little firefox icon.
Um ok all I have now is a checkerboxed screen that says welcome to on top
, no menu items, just an x in the upper right hand corner. I am going to try a soft reset.
Pretty disapointing so far! I will post more on http://www.asktheadmin.com when and IF I can get Fennec running!

I was able to bring up an address bar by dragging my finger up. But I am still unable to bring up ANY sites. Even the About:firstrun does nothing. A whole lot of checkerboxes :( and it seems like that is what everyone elses experience is as well.
Anyone get it to work?

Very frustrating browser, large waste of time. I see no performance differences between this and the beta. I had version 1.0a3pre and now have 0.11 and the difference is slim to none (Only major difference I have seen is an increase in file size of more than 1MB). I would recommend staying away from this browser unless you have the touch HD. My friend has this phone and he also works as a developer for mozilla. Overall I would just say wait on this download. Instead go get NATF's new v4.3 for the fuze!
Device: HTC Fuze
ROM: NATF's HTC Fuze v4.3
Radio: 1.09.25.35 (Blackstone)
P.S. I NEED MORE RAM!!! :)

Seems to be very, very heavy. Couldn't get any pages to load, or maybe I didn't wait long enough? In any case, IF it works, the load times are immense, it's heavy and at least I couldn't find any kind of config menu.
But as they said, it's very very very early release so it's not really a wonder it doesn't work. My advise is: wait for the proper release :)

Ive had the same problems as the other guys. Ive been tinckering for an hour and havent gotten any site to load. to Tuomas the Config menu is there if you scroll all the way right. The browser shows promise i guess.. i mean it has a neat interface. obviously this browser needs alot of work but its pretty much useless for me unless i can get a page to load. I'll keep playing and let you know if anything else changes. i really dont know why mozilla released it if it cant even do anything..

Doesn't work with my 8125 aka HTC Wizard. Installation took a few minutes., no problems there. Once installed, it doesn't launch. Takes up quite a bit of memory I believe.
Device: HTC Wizard with Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro with Touch HD custom ROM
