For individual file encryption, as opposed to whole drive encryption offered by True Crypt, I recommend AxCrypt (http://www.axantum.com/AxCrypt/Default.html). AxCrypt offers AES encryption. Its free and open source. The user interface integrates nicely with windows file explorer, a better solution than Drag'n'Crypt Ultra. AxCrypt has plenty of other options - command line, self decrypting files, keys by key file or pass phrase input.
